Google+ Shutdown and Notepadqq Community

As many of you may have heard, Google is shutting down its Google+ social network in April, 2019.

Our Google+ community counts more than 250 members, and during all this time it has been a reference point for both support requests and important feedbacks from you.

With its imminent shutdown, we’ll have to prepare to move to a different platform. Not many options are available, with the most obvious one being Facebook.

That’s why I’ve already created a public Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/notepadqq/

As usual, we’re waiting for your feedback. See you over there!

I’d vote for Google Groups over Facebook. Anything but Facebook.

public Facebook group: “You must log in first.”

It’s really necessary just to read group news?

  • for Google Groups instead of facebook as alternative.

By the way your facebook group isn’t available to read for people without facebook account. Why?

What about using something like Disqus service?

P.S.
And where is the release of notepaqq with qtwebengine support? :)

What is about final release notepadqq 2.0 for linux users and later do a minor release for flatpack and macos? I know about beta version but linux distributive maintainers don’t like to package beta releases.

Perhaps the MeWe platform could be a good alternative for Google+

Facebook? An alternative??? What about the various services part of the ActivityPub Fediverse such as Mastodon, Friendica, Pleroma, etc. ? There’s also Diaspora which is much better than Facebook.

Barely anyone uses the alternatives. A social network is only as good as the amount of people who use it. The world is imperfect – assuming technical superiority means anything when it comes to something like a social network is the reason no-one uses or even knows about anything other than Facebook.
