Help releasing notepadqq 1.0 sooner

Notepadqq needs developers. You may have noticed that the development is going veeery slooow: this is because I can’t do it alone anymore.

Getting started is really easy. All the development stuff is centralized github, the code is Qt (C++) and everything is straightforward.

You can code new features, translate, fix small bugs, fix huge bugs, write docs, and a lot of things. If you’re interested please let me know in the comments, and I will write some new articles explaining how to get started step by step.

I would like to help. What is the current situation? What is needed most right now?

I’m curious, why does the name include two Q’s?

If I had to spell it in caps it might look like NotepadQQ where QQ is commonly abbreviated for crying eyes, or quiting games.

On another note, I’m trying to install on Sabayon X (a Gentoo derivative,) and if all goes well and I can use your editor I’ll link back to you on my site :)

The original software name is “notepad++” because of C++. Notepadqq is built on top of Qt, so I choose “Notepadqq”. Note that the “q”s should be written in *lower case*.

Hi Kapil,
You can get started by downloading the source code (located on github: https://github.com/notepadqq/notepadqq). Try building it and let me now about any problem.
Then, there are *a lot* of functions waiting to be written. For example, look at the menus: you’ll see that some stuff needs to be implemented.

If you want to start with something smaller, this is a list with some bugs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/notepadqq .
I suggest you this one in particular: https://bugs.launchpad.net/notepadqq/+bug/875547
it should be simple and should be useful to introduce you to the code.

I would like to help you in this project. Tell me how i can contribute. My skill is pretty basic in Qt and C++. I also contribute to Notepad++ with my plugins JSONViewer and DOCIt.
